The weather in Orlando is cooler in January than in most other times of the year. The average high temperature is 71°F, so this means that while you can wear short sleeves, you may want to wear jeans or pants and carry a sweater or light jacket.

Weather in Orlando in February

February Weather in Disney World

Weather is absolutely beautiful in February with an average high temperature of 75°F and you will see plenty of days with sunny skies!

February is one of the least rainy months of the year in Orlando, but I would still pack your rain poncho just in case a shower comes around midday.

You should also note that it will be chillier in the morning and evenings in the parks. Definitely dress in layers or at least bring a lightweight sweater

March Weather in Orlando

Epcot in Spring

June, July & August Weather in Disney World

Summer in Orlando is just plain HOT and HUMID.  There is very little difference in June, July & August other than the temps increase by a few degrees each month.

The temps are going to be in the 90’s during the summer months, but it is going to feel even hotter because of the intense humidity.

You will want to have a cooling towel, misting fan and plenty of water on hand to get through the heat.

You can count on it raining at least once a day (usually in the afternoon), but don’t dismay. The shower won’t last long.

The average temperature in Orlando during the month of September is 90º and as the month progresses, the temperature will decrease.

One thing about September that you need to know is that it marks the peak of hurricane season in Florida.

Don’t let that stop you from enjoying the parks.  Just pack a poncho!

The average high temperature in Orlando in December is 73º during the day. This is one of the few times of the year that you will actually be comfortable wearing jeans or pants to the park.

The sun is still strong in Florida, so you will most likely want to wear short sleeves.

Disney World Weather FAQ

What happens if it rains at Disney World?

When it rains at Disney World, most things continue as normal. People rush to the gift shops or bathrooms to put on their rain gear or wait out the rain (which normally ends in minutes).

Does Disney World ever close for weather?

Walt Disney World has only closed 8 times in the last 50 years for hurricanes. While rare, it has happened and there is a Hurricane Policy in place that will allow you to get a refund in the event the parks close.

What Rides Close at Disney World when it Rains?

Rides are closed if they have a risk of injuring people due to the rain, or for safety reasons. If rain is especially heavy, or if lightning is within 10 miles of the park, all outdoor rides & attractions may be stopped completely.

For example, in Magic Kingdom, rides like Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Tomorrowland Indy Speedway, Astro Orbiter and Swiss Family Treehouse tend to close when storms are in the area.

Which Disney park is best when it rains?

We believe that EPCOT is a great place to visit when it rains. There are plenty of indoor rides and attractions at the park that will allow you to get out of the rain!
