How To Make a Disney Savings Jar

(We may earn a commission via affiliate links in this post. Read our full disclosure policy.)

When it comes to planning a Disney vacation on a budget, there are many different ways you can start saving in advance. One thing that our family does every year is save change in a Disney Savings Jar.

Each day when we return home from work or an outing, we empty our pockets (and wallets) of coins into our coin jar.

It is something simple to do and because we do it so much, it is second nature for us to just take any loose change and put it in the jar.

Right before we take our trip, we take our coin jar to a Coin Star machine.

The result is usually $50-$100 that we put towards on our favorite Disney treats & souvenirs.

Instructions

  1. Use any container you currently have on hand. I had a glass sugar jar that we never used. You could easily use a coffee can & do the same thing.
  2. Decorate using Mickey Mouse scrapbook paper, ribbon, Disney stickers or chipboard. I love to scrapbook, so I used leftovers from a recent album.  You can find tons of printable Disney images on the internet if you don’t want to invest in chipboard or stickers.
  3. Cut a slit in the top of your lid so that you can easily insert coins without having to remove the lid.
  4. Look around the house (under cushions, in laundry) and in your car (under seats) for spare change and put it in your Disney Savings Jar!

There you have it!

A simple way to start saving for your Disney vacation.

Do you have a Disney Savings Jar? How much do you typically accumulate in it for your vacation?
