One of the best parts about going to Disney with small kids is meeting the characters! You will want to make sure you have a Disney autograph book (or something that characters can sign) so that your child can remember those special moments.
What Disney Autograph Book is Best?
There are many different types of Disney autograph books you can choose from!
If you know that you are going to print the pictures you take at Disney, you might choose a book that allows you to insert the picture on one side, with the other side featuring a spot for the Disney character autograph.
Be sure that when taking your photos, that you take horizontal photos so that they fit in the book perfectly!
People that know that they will never get to printing out those pictures should opt for an autograph book that only has pages for autographs!
What type of pen should I bring?
No matter which type you choose, make sure you bring a pen! Disney meet & greets do not supply pens, so if you fail to bring one, you might not get an autograph!
Our pen of choice is always one that is retractable. This is because they are the easiest for the characters to use. Their big hands make it difficult for them to take pen caps off, and will increase the chance that the lids fall off (never to be found again!).
We usually bring a retractable sharpie, but that isn’t always the best option because if your autograph book pages are thin, they can bleed through.
In that case, I would choose a retractable ballpoint pen (just be sure it isn’t fine point).
One of our favorites is getting a photo mat frame signed by Disney characters.
Where to get Disney Autographs
Now that you know everything there is to know about Disney autographs, you might be wondering where you can meet Disney characters in Disney World.
While there are several places to meet them in the park, one of the best ways to meet a few characters without having to stand in a line is to do a Disney character meal.
A meal with Disney characters allows you to meet with several Disney characters at one time while you sit down for a good breakfast, lunch or dinner. These are our favorite Disney character meals to get Disney autographs.
Not All Disney Characters Give Autographs
Please don’t be surprised to find that some Disney characters will not do autographs. Typically, these are Disney characters that don’t have traditional hands.

If you fail to purchase your autograph books before your trip to Disney, don’t worry. You can find them at the counter of just about all of the shops inside the park and of course a the World of Disney store in Disney Springs.
