50's Prime Time Cafe in Disney World

Dinner: 50’s Prime Time Cafe

If you are going to splurge on one table service meal at Hollywood Studios, it should be at 50’s Prime Time Cafe. This is not just a meal, but an experience. It will be just like eating at Grandma’s house with some of the best home cooked favorites like Fried Chicken and Meatloaf (and all the rules apply).

So as a 21 yo college student, I can say that there are very few places I havent tried. Our family regularly visits and I have several special places that I love for various reasons.

A few options not listed above..

Magic Kingdom: Breakfast: Cinderella's royal table Lunch: Casey's Corner Dinner: (As our family is usually worn out from the day, we choose to ride the monorail to a resort for a break then ride back around for the evening parade or fireworks) My favorite escape is to the Polynesian Resort to dine at Kona.

Epcot: This has to be my favorite part of our vacay from a dining perspective. For me its not so much breakfast/lunch/dinner as it is "eating our way around the world". Personally I think going with an adventurous friend is the best way to go. I prefer all the quick service places so we can try different things. I love the Italian food, and definitely the Cantina. (Inside the Mexican Pavilion the atmosphere is nice but I prefer the outdoor food best.) And definitely dont forget to stop in the Patisserie for a sweet escape.

Hollywood Studios: B'fast: Starring roles Lunch: Since we usually finish early at this park, we typically plan a late lunch. That said, we dine at Sci-Fi. I will never go back to 50's prime time. It was one of the worst experiences we have ever had. Never again.

Animal Kingdom: Breakfast HAS to be at Tusker House. We scheduled this when my little brother was asked who his favorite character was. Of course he answered Donald Duck. This was the only character dining experience where we knew that Donald appeared at that time. Im so thankful now because characters or not, this hands down wins every time.

After this breakfast, we usually eat a light lunch (or a turkey leg) but sometimes Yak and Yeti. (Both are wonderful options.)

Snacks throughout the Kingdom (and beyond)

Port Orleans FQ- You must try the beignets!

Polynesian- There are so many to choose from.

Yacht and Beach- Ice cream! And, Hurricane Hanna's has some wonderful drinks and kids meals come in pails with shovels to play in the sand!

Boardwalk- So technically the above could combine with these but there's a lot going on here. Every kind of ice cream, margaritas, pizza, cotton candy, bakery options, should I go on? ?

Yak and Yetii the duck is amazing and the service as well, a must-do every time as well as sci-fi diner for the milkshakes and deli sandwiches at Holywood studios. and a must with my parents Cristal Palace for meeting characters without lines and heat.

We absolutely love, love, LOVE Tusker House! That's about the only Disney restaurant that's a must-do every time we visit Disney. The breakfast is awesome and the service is even better. I'm not a big banana fan, so was a little hesitant on trying the banana bread pudding. But since I love bread pudding, I tried it. It was GREAT! I even went back for seconds. My grandson had 4 (yes, I said 4) helpings of pancakes. When I asked him about that, he replied, "But they're so good here!"

50s Prime Time Cafe is a restaurant that every year I look at when making ADRs and every year end up not booking. I always get scared away by the rowdy servers who scold. Read one review on Yelp where a server made a teenager go stand in the corner because she was on her cell phone. That wouldn't go over well and would just ruin the rest of the day for us, so we always head some place else instead. Maybe one day.....
