While at Magic Kingdom be sure to check out the Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom interactive game. In Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom, Merlin (the magician from Sword in the Stone) recruits guests to become apprentice sorcerers. Using a map and spell cards, the apprentice’s goal is to defeat some of Disney’s worst villains.
You will need to begin your adventure on Main Street near the Firehouse. Once there, you will need to present your MagicBand (or park ticket) to get your own Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom Cards. I would suggest getting all members of your party the set of playing cards even if you aren’t planning to play. This way you will all get some pretty cool free spell card souvenirs.
The Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom is really a neat interactive experience, but can be confusing if you don’t follow the directions and constantly refer back to your map. Be prepared for a great deal of walking and searching for the spots marked with the Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom Logo. Once you find your destination, simply place your key card on the lock found near the site and wait for Merlin to appear with special instructions on where to go next.
Part of what I enjoyed most about this interactive experience is that it takes you to spots you might not otherwise have noticed or made time to visit. One of my favorites was going inside this art store to get a clue.
Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom Tip: You can get a FREE set of Spell cards each time you go to Magic Kingdom. I suggest getting this Ultra Pro PRO-Binder to carry your cards in so that they don’t get damaged.
