All Star Movies Resort at Disney World

All Star Movies Resort is a popular choice for families traveling to Disney on a budget. This value resort is located near Animal Kingdom & has theming geared around five Disney movies: Toy Story, Fantasia, 101 Dalmatians, The Mighty Ducks, and Herbie: The Love Bug.

Each section has its own iconic characters and decor that bring the movies to life.

If you are traveling to Disney World with fans of Toy Story, kids will absolutely love the buildings featuring their favorite Toy Story characters, like Woody & Buzz Lightyear.

Are There Better Value Resort Options?

If you are traveling on a budget, a Disney Value Resort is a good option.

While All Star Movies Resort is not our favorite of Disney’s value resorts (that would be Pop Century), if you are planning on only being in your room long enough to sleep, your accommodations really don’t matter.

In my opinion, the theming of All-Star movies is outdated.

While the rooms have been updated, I would prefer to have more cohesiveness with having the outside match the inside.

Those looking for a more traditional Disney experience and can pay a little more per night, might want to check out Art of Animation.

Art of Animation is also considered a Value Resort but its overall interior and exterior feel more like a moderate.

Have you stayed at All-Star Movies Resort? What was your impression?

We stayed at All Star Movies last time we went to Disney (Nov-Dec 2018) and I have to say that it was the WORST resort we've stayed at out all the WDW resorts we've been to. The rooms are tiny. When you pull the Murphy bed down, it's even smaller.

The cast members were the least friendly, too. We were late checking out because of bad advice we'd gotten from a concierge. And while I'm at the desk trying to straighten it out so I wasn't charged for an extra day, the manager was at our room scaring my kids because he's telling them we need to get out of the room. It was only 10 minutes past 11:00.

The buses were awful. Movies shares a bus with Music & Sports. The first stop is at Sports, then Music, then Movies. So by the time the bus reaches Movies, it's usually full and you're left to wait for the next one. On the return trip, the stops are still in the same order, so you're the last to get off the bus.

But the worst part were the walls! They're paper thin. We could hear everything our neighbors were saying, word for word. And it got really bad when they started fighting. The woman was yelling the F word every other word. After 30 nonstop minutes, I finally called down to the front desk. I had kids that didn't need to hear that, and the people were NOT going to let up. Even with the phone on the opposite side of the room, the lady at the front desk could hear the fighting over the phone. She sent security up. We would have been able to get a different room because of it, but they were booked and didn't have any room available.

We couldn't wait to leave! We stayed at Disney for eight days/nights. We only stayed at Movies for four.

I just came back from Disney yesterday. I have to say there is no recpset for DVC Members. The front desk clerk told me they changed the valet policy overnight. The free dinning plan for nov DVC members is what really has me upset. I think we should ban together and get them to something about the meal plan. They want us to purchase additional points. I refuse until they give us something in return. We should at least be entitled to what the general public gets

I understand your frustration. That is the only reason we haven't joined DVC. When heard we would not be able to get FREE Dining, we were very upset.
